Today, I hiked to the ruins of the old Brown's farm site in the Owens Creek area. It was only about half a mile. Then, I drove to the Hog Rock trailhead and made the hike to the Rock Rock vista. This hike was a bit uphill and about a mile in length.
Welcome to Gary and Liz's blog. This blog will be a chronicle of our travels around the country in our RV. We currently reside part time in Casa Grande, Arizona when we are not working in the National Parks as campground hosts or tour guides.
I was a marathoner and belong to an elite group of runners that are multi-time finishers of the Pikes Peak Marathon. Today, I have to settle for bicycling and backcountry camping, but I will try almost anything from white water rafting to four-wheeling on old logging roads. Luckily, my wonderful wife is also adventuresome woman and usually doesn’t mind doing without the conveniences of the civilized world for shorter periods of time.
Not much bothers me and I’m never in a hurry. I am just an old country boy and call home wherever I am currently hanging my hat. Currently, that’s in my winter home in Casa Grande, Arizona.
