Fourth of July Camping Trip

We met some friends for camping during the fourth of July weekend. We camped in central PA around Hamburg and made a shopping trip to Cabelas. The high point of this weekend was playing Hillbilly Golf and seeing an RV being repossessed.

We continued on the the Smoky Mountains after we parted company with our friends. We camped in Elkmount Campground inside the park and drove the Jeep to Gatlinburg and at least one quilt shop. We also did a bit of four wheeling in the Cosby area of the park and went to the Gatlinburg Harley shop. The two places that we always visit no matter where we go are the quilt shop and the Harley shop.

Black Hills of South Dakota

We travelled to the Black Hills of South Dakota during the Memorial Day week and the first week in June of 2007. This was our first trip back out west since we moved to New York from Texas in late 2004. We visited Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave and Deadwood. This is motorcycle country and home to the famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally each August. We stopped in Badlands National Park on our way back to New York.
